You can take back control.

Anxiety Therapy for Women in Glendale, AZ

Are you tired of feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in your thoughts?

Anxiety can show up in ways that aren’t always obvious. If you’re a woman in Glendale, Peoria, or Northwest Phoenix struggling with constant overthinking, worrying about what could go wrong, or struggling to quiet your mind, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. You may feel overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities, have difficulty setting boundaries, or find yourself striving for perfection just to feel like you’re doing enough. You may find yourself worrying about how others perceive you, replaying conversations after they happen, avoiding social situations, or feeling anxious to speak up or be yourself around others.

Even when everything looks fine from the outside, anxiety can leave you feeling exhausted, disconnected, and stuck. Let’s be honest, anxiety isn’t always just worry. It can affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and even your ability to relax.

You may experience:

  • Constant worry or overthinking

  • Racing thoughts

  • Feeling overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted

  • Perfectionism or fear of making mistakes

  • Trouble setting boundaries

  • Irritability or feeling constantly on edge

  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating

  • Feeling like you have to hold everything together

If this sounds familiar, anxiety therapy can help.

At Sunrise Counseling, I provide personalized anxiety therapy for women in Glendale, Peoria, and Northwest Phoenix who want to feel more grounded, confident, and in control of their lives.

How therapy works

It may feel impossible right now, but you can get back in the driver’s seat of your life.

Together, we’ll work toward helping you understand your anxiety, develop practical tools to manage it, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges. I tailor therapy to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based strategies to help you better understand and manage anxiety. Depending on what you need, we may explore the mind-body connection, practice grounding or breathing techniques, or develop practical tools for navigating stress and difficult emotions. I’ll be there to guide, encourage, and support you along the way.

There’s no “easy button” when it comes to learning new skills, and lasting change takes practice. While I don’t typically assign traditional homework, I may encourage you to practice the skills we develop together between sessions. The goal isn’t to add another task to your already-full plate—it’s to help these tools become easier and more natural to use when you need them most.

If you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed, paralyzed by decisions, or like anxiety is running the show, therapy can be a place to start doing things differently. You deserve to feel like yourself again—and to make your own needs a priority.

What we can work on in anxiety therapy…

Anxiety doesn’t look the same for everyone. Together, we’ll look at the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck—and develop practical tools to help you respond to anxiety differently.

Depending on your needs, therapy may incorporate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, parts work, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). For some women, anxiety is connected to past experiences or trauma. When appropriate, trauma therapy and EMDR may also be incorporated into therapy.

Our work may include learning to:

  • Recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns

  • Manage overwhelming emotions and calm your nervous system

  • Navigate social anxiety and fear of judgment

  • Break the cycle of replaying conversations and second-guessing yourself

  • Speak up, express your needs, and set healthier boundaries

  • Let go of perfectionistic patterns

  • Develop greater self-compassion and confidence

  • Respond to anxiety without letting it run the show
